San Luis Obispo International Film Festival

"If you build it, he will come."
Field of Dreams, 1989

Recently rated one of the 10 Best Places to Live in the United States by Spering's Best Places and located halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo is the jewel of California's Central Coast.

The Festival is anchored in Downtown San Luis Obispo with five venues and two theatres that are within walking distance of each other.

The quaint downtown area is a unique, historic California township with numerous charming hotels and B&Bs, gourmet restaurants, wine bars, a creek walk lined with local sculpture, boutiques, specialty shopping and the historic Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa.

Morro Bay, California

Visitors to this area can also enjoy breath-taking ocean views and beaches; world-class, award-winning wineries; idyllic areas for hiking, biking, surfing, and kayaking; several challenging golf courses; a world famous outdoor Farmer's Market; and several relaxing spas and hot springs. The beach breaks in Morro Bay and in Pismo offer world class surfing, and The Morros (known as the Seven Sisters) provide some of the most beautiful hiking vistas in the state of California.

Our vision for the 13th Annual San Luis Obispo International Film Festival: to engage, excite, enhance and unite the lives of filmgoers and filmmakers by providing an artistic and educational venue grounded in the medium and region we love.

The San Luis Obispo Visitors and Conference Bureau website also contains information about fully enjoying your stay in the county during the Festival.

The San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce's VisitSLO.com website can help you plan tours and wine tasting and find some of the community's many fine hotels and restaurants.

The California Dept. of Parks and Recreation Web pages include information about such state parks as world-famous Hearst Castle above San Simeon State Beach, Montana de Oro running into the Morro Bay State Park, and the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area.
