SLOIFFHow to impress your in-laws? Duel by chilies! Even better that you eat them raw without water, or so Randal learns in this hilarious film on an interracial relationship gone right.

Directed by former SLO County native Tyrone HuFF as his graduate thesis film, this story takes place where it originated: in the city of Paso Robles. Randal attempts to impress his future in-laws so that, despite the cultural differences, they will see that he loves their daughter, Yolanda. The dinner table is set as Randal takes on the challenges of Yolanda’s father, culminating in a hot bowl of fresh chilies. Add in a side of language barriers and a helping of cultural differences, and this table heats up into what turns out to be one fun, comedic and heart-warming take on prejudice and that ever-dreaded first meeting of a partner’s parents. Director/writer, Tyrone Huff will be in attendance. Dramatic Comedy. USA. 14 min. Screens with A Day’s Work and Gasoline.
