When 17-year old Dakota Skye finally finds honesty in a relationship, she realizes there’s more to life than she could hope for.
For as long as she can remember, Dakota Skye (Eileen Boylan) has been cursed with a super power - she has the ability to see the truth in any lie that is told. From small, harmless white lies, to the more devious kind, lies have been consistently coming from the people that she should trust the most; her own parents, friends — even her steady boyfriend. Understandably, Dakota has developed a bitter, apathetic attitude toward the world. Her boyfriend plays in a semi-popular local rock band while her best friend attempts to get aloof Dakota to focus on studying for the upcoming SAT exams. Then one day, Jonah (Ian Nelson) comes to town. It only takes a few days before Dakota notices something different about him. He doesn’t lie. Through her friendship with Jonah, her eyes are opened to the world around her and she begins to re-examine her life. Maybe there is a possibility of something different…better.
