Midnight Rail to Nowhere : Part One
Sponsored by The Palm Theatre

Monday, March 10— 7:00pm Palm Theatre World Premiere

A man tries to run from a nihilistic society...but can he?

In this existential short film, we meet Emmet, a man living in a town with no exits, except for a train believed to lead to certain death. In this shaky society, run by an unseen government forcing its people to commit murder for seemingly no reason at all, Emmet is caught between conformity and yearning for freedom. Part One chronicles only the events leading up to Emmet's decision to board the Midnight rail, when Emmet kills two men in a small theatre (that looks very familiar.) He makes a run for the rail, but in a society where everyone's watching, he won't get far. Shot in just three days in San Luis Obispo, this film by Cameron Bowman is only the first few scenes from a twisted, yet undeniable mural of today's path into an uncertain future. Director/writer Cameron Bowman will be in attendance. USA. 1 hr. 37 m. Screens with In A Day's Time and Breakfast on Catalina.
