SLOIFFAn in-depth look into the world of professional bullfighters and barrelmen, better known as rodeo clowns.

When a bull rider climbs onto the back of a bull for “the 8-second ride that lasts a lifetime,” he knows there’s someone there to help him, and sometimes actually protect him, should things get dicey. Such is the job of the rodeo clown, known in insider rodeo circles as the bullfighter or barrelman. Filmmaker David Wittkower provides you with a backstage pass and a ringside seat to some of the nation’s top rodeos, as he examines the world of the professional bullfighter. Travel to the frontlines of professional bull riding, listen to candid interviews with bullfighters and barrelmen, learn how they approach their difficult and dangerous jobs, and find out what they look for in both a rider and a bull. Distraction is the name of the game in this pulse-pounding profession, where there’s no second chance to get it right, and where success can often mean saving a bull rider’s life. Director/producer, David Wittkower will be in attendance. Documentary. USA. 52 m. Screens with Heart and Soil.
