A compelling, intimate portrait of the important and influential modern American ballet dancers, Jack Soto.
Jack Soto was born on an Arizona Navajo Indian reservation to a Navajo mother and Puerto Rican father. He was raised in the American southwest where ballet dancing for boys was virtually unheard of. Through Jacks determination and his parents support and dedication, Jack was accepted to the prestigious School of American Ballet in New York City at the age of 14, where his parents left him to begin his new life. At 16 he was personally selected by George Balachine to join the New York City Ballet where he became a force for over two decades. This candid portrait of this amazing artist and his impending retirement is inspiring for both dancers and dance-lovers, as well as anyone who has attained their dream and now needs to learn how to age gracefully. Documentary. USA. 1 hr. 17 m. Screens with "Long Way Home".
