In 2007, the SLOIFF debuted the Youth Filmmakers Showcase with seven films from talented local young people. A big crowd came out to cheer on the kids and the bright future of this program was determined then and there! This year it's grown to include 14 films from both individual filmmakers under the age of 18, as well as several groups. We recieved entries from both local students as well as young people in several other states. Cash prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
Best Animated film / Best Documentary / Best Feature Film over 5 min. / Best Short Film under 5 min.
Best SLO County Elementary School Film / Best SLO County Middle School Film / Best SLO County high School Film
Winners will be announced after the screenings of the following films in competition:
